Green goddess smoothie bowl recipe

As we head into the warmer months in New Zealand, I’ve been swapping my usual breakfast porridge for overnight oats or a smoothie bowl. This smoothie bowl is so quick to make, with many of the ingredients staples you no doubt already have in your fridge or fruit bowl.The smoothie is packed with fresh ingredients and can easily be adapted to suit your own taste. As the fruit and vegetables listed below go out of season, feel free to swap them for your favourite seasonal alternatives. Give it a go and I’d love to hear what you think.

Green goddess smoothie bowl: 

1 cup of natural yoghurt

1/3 cup pineapple

1/2 small banana

Handful of baby spinach

1/4 avocado

1 kiwifruit

Toppings: 

1/2 banana, thinly sliced

1/3 cup toasted muesli or oats

2 tbsp shredded coconut

5 almonds

2 tbsp pumpkin seeds

Combine all the smoothie bowl ingredients into a food processor or Nutri Bullet. Blend until smooth. Pour into a shallow dessert bowl and pop it into the fridge to chill slightly. Or if you can’t wait, top with your favourite toppings and enjoy!
