My morning and night skincare routine

I often get asked about my skincare routine and what I use, so thought I’d share my current favourite products which I use morning and night. While a healthy diet, plenty of water and regularly exercise can’t be beat, these five products have helped transform my skin over the last few years.

If you’d told me a few years ago that I’d be using a serum every day I would have laughed at you. The idea of applying an oily substance to my face just seemed unthinkable. But face serums, namely Olay Regenerist Luminous Skin Tone Perfecting Serum have really boosted my skin hydration, improved texture and brightened. I can’t remember how I first got on to this Olay product, but as you can see from the well worn bottle, it’s a firm favourite. After cleansing my skin I apply a few drops to my fingers and gently pat it in. The serum helps fade dark spots and leaves your skin feeling softer, smoother and over time you’ll definitely notice an added brightness and radiance. You need to try it!

Another serum which is a more recent addition to my routine, but which I also love is Sephora Collection Luminizing Booster. The serum contains a high concentrate of vitamin C, which helps brighten and banish dull winter skin, as well as reduce pigmentation and boost the production of collagen. Again, a few drops in the hand and then gently pressed onto your cheeks, around the eyes and forehead will do the trick. A little goes a long way.

I switch up eye creams regularly, but two of my current favourites are Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream and MAC Fast Response Eye Cream. The Origins one is great for the mornings when you wake up with puffy and tired eyes (most days). The cream absorbs fast and really helps to brighten and reduce the appearance of under eye bags. The MAC eye cream is great for firming and softening the skin around the eye, fading laugh lines and hiding dark circles.

In my early 20s, I hate to admit it but I never used a face moisturiser, thinking that it would just add extra oil to my then oily to combination skin. But a few years later and I’ve noticed a huge improvement in my skin’s appearance and hydration since I started incorporating a moisturiser into my routine. Cue the eye rolls, but for me it was all about finding the right moisturiser that felt light when I applied it and didn’t leave my skin looking shiny. Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisturiser comes with a SPF15, is non greasy and absorbs quickly into the skin so you don’t have to waste precious minutes in the morning waiting for it to sink in. I use it religiously morning and night after I’ve applied a serum and eye cream.

So that’s my current skincare routine. I’d love to hear what skincare products are your all-time favourites in the comments below.
