Brunch at Peonies Cafe in Paris

During a recent trip to Paris, I stumbled across Peonies, a gorgeous pastel pink cafe and flower shop. Food lovers will love the small, but delicious breakfast/ brunch menu, good coffee and array of baked treats displayed on the counter.

Situated a short walk from Saint-Denis metro stop, the cafe is the perfect place to enjoy a leisurely brunch like we did, before picking up a posy of beautiful wildflowers and foliage as you head out the door.

We ordered the homemade granola with yoghurt and fresh seasonal fruit. It arrived packed with summer berries and fresh figs, while the granola was chunky and moorish.

To finish, we ordered the avocado toast to share and discovered a single serve (two slices of seedy bread, laden with avocado) was more than enough for the two of us. The smashed avocado was topped with edible flowers and dark cocoa nibs – an unusual combination, but it tasted delicious and somehow just worked.

Worth noting:

  • The gold cutlery – what Instagram flatly dreams are made of
  • Matcha pancakes – need to try these next time I visit
  • Handmade ceramic coffee cups
  • Pastel pink or green Peonies printed tote bags for sale
